Çukuriçi Mound

The remnants of the earliest settlement in Ephesus are traced back to the Neolithic Age, Chalcolithic Age and Early Bronze Age.

During the Çukuriçi Mound dig, two idols made with the highest quality marble that date back to the earliest times of Ephesus were found.

Both of these two idols witness the earliest art of sculpture in Ephesus. 

The unearthed exported pieces in the area Show that the people of the era had interacted with other regions and cultures.
