As being one of the İzmir’s districts, Bergama is one of the most important culture and tourism centers of the Aegean with its historical and cultural richness. While its history goes back to the 7th century BC, the city became the capital of the Pergamon Kingdom under the rule of Attalids after the death of Macedonian Emperor, Alexander the Great in 323 BC during the Hellenism, Pergamon had started giving the most authentic works in art, literature, health, science and architecture.
