“They established their city under the most beautiful sky and in the best climate we know on earth” Heredot.

Located 70 kilometers from Izmir, Foça is one of the most popular vacation venues in Izmir with its blue flag beaches and healthy Aegean cuisine. An Ionian civilization in the Ancient Era Foça was called Phokaia for the Mediterranean monk seals that lived in its waters and this name reached our present day in the form of Foça. In 2013 the Foça Castle was included on UNESCO’s World Cultural Heritages List.

Included in Homeros’s Odysseia, Foça is a place frequented by both foreign and domestic tourists. In Foça day trips can be made on boats to visit the islands and coves or the historical sites.
