Alihan Mausoleum

This mausoleum, located in a narrow street to the south of Yeni Mosque in Tire district of İzmir province, looks like a two-story house. Considering the gravestones in the mausoleum, it is thought to have been built on h.730 (1330). The tomb belongs to Aydınoğulları and Alihan Baba from Khorasan. According to Evliya Çelebi, Alihan Baba built some buildings and foundations in Tire and its surroundings. The tomb was made of rubble stone in a rectangular plan. There is an interesting building shape that does not resemble the tomb architecture. A part of the rectangular planned tomb is covered by an octagonal drum dome. After the round-arched entrance, there is an opening that leads to the upper floor and a four-step staircase. This section has a square plan and a domed top. There is also a mummy section under the section where the coffins are located. Mummification part of 3.55x6.08 m. It has a rectangular plan and is covered with a vault.
