Kara Hasan Mosque

This mosque, located in the Tire district of Izmir province, was built in the first half of the 15th century by Kara Hasan Bey, son of Ibrahim Bahadır Bey, from Aydınoğulları. The madrasah next to it was destroyed and could not survive. Its harem measures 9.25 m X 9.35 m. These dimensions exceed the space size of the Beylik period buildings. Transitions to the dome are provided with triangles. The last congregation place has three sections and its minaret is in the west. The minaret is one of the favorite examples of Tire minarets with its corncob motif. The mosque, which has survived to the present day, is not original and was rebuilt on its old foundations. Originally, only wooden door wings and grooved minaret survived.
