Kara Hayrettin Paşa Mosque (Güdük Minaret)

Located at the intersection of İzmir, Tire district, Cumhuriyet, Dumlupınar and Ertuğrul Districts, the Kulliye consists of a mosque, madrasa, fountain and bath. The construction date of the complex is unknown.

It was built by Kara Hayrettin Pasha. On the exterior of the mosque, there is a monumental fountain inside the wall, enclosed in three intertwined pointed arches. Since its thick-bodied and brick-decorated minaret was plastered over, its original form was lost. The square-planned harem is covered with a tile-covered dome. The Kulliye, which has its madrasa, bath and fountain inside the houses, is an early Ottoman period structure. Due to the short length of its minaret, it is also called Güdük Minaret Mosque among the locals.
