Kazanoğlu Mosque

Since this mosque, located in İzmir Tire, Duatepe District, does not have an inscription, sufficient information was not found in the sources. For this reason, the date of construction could not be determined. It is thought that this mosque, which was built by a person known as Kazanoğlu, was built in the middle of the 15th century, based on the architectural style. The mosque is made of rubble with brick beams, and the rows of stones are alternately built with two rows of bricks. The mosque is 7.25x7.25 m. It has a square plan in size and is covered with a pendentive dome. In the last congregation place of the mosque, there are two windows on the east and west walls. The mihrab wall is deaf. There is only a round window on the mihrab. The mihrab is in the form of a semicircle and it is 4.10 m. in height. The top is painted with oil paint and ends with stalactite. The last congregation place of the mosque is rectangular with two columns placed between the wall extensions. 2.85 m. it has overflowed in the form of wings. These sections are covered with a dome at the entrance, cross vaults on both sides and semicircular vaults at both ends. The pedestal continues up to the roof of the last congregation place, and from here it is passed to the round minaret body. The minaret has a single balcony and is made of bricks.
