Kaziroğlu (Kadızade) Mosque, Madrasah ve Fountain

Kadızade Mosque is a part of the complex located in Ertuğrul Neighbourhood, Kaziroğlu Street. Zaviye is included in the ancient artifacts index of the Regional Directorate of Foundations within the period of the Aydınoğlu Principality. The mosque, which was built by Emir Muhittin Bey in the 14th century as Zaviye, served as a Mevlevi lodge until the Republic period. It is the third biggest Mevlevi lodge of the city after Tire Mevlevi lodge and Yeşil İmaret Mevlevi lodge. He has an important book called 'Musiki', which was presented to Sultan Murat by his leader Muhiddin Bey. The complex consists of a lodge, a madrasah, a fountain and a burial ground in the garden. In the foundation records related to the mosque, it is referred to as 'Vakf-ı Muhiddin Bey, aka Masjid Kaziroğlu'. While the building is mentioned in other records with names such as Kazirzade, Veled-i Kadı, İbni Kadı, and İbni Gazi, it is publicly referred to as 'Cazir'. The mosque, which was repaired in 1860, was last restored in 2015. It lost its original structure and decorations from these restorations.


The history

The building, which was converted into a mosque when it was a Mevlevi lodge, has a rich foundation presence according to the records of 1530. They are the foundations with the highest income after Aydınoğlu İs Bey and Halil Yahşi Bey.

The madrasa rooms are located 1 meter above the garden floor of the mosque. The dome, which sits on an octagonal drum, is covered with tiles. The harem of the mosque is 6,90 m. X is 6.90 m and the transition to the dome is provided by pendants. The hoop skirt is decorated with toothed moldings. The last congregation place added later has four sections. Its guilloche-shaped minaret is to the east of the mosque and has a single balcony.

There is a madrasah to the east of the mosque. The madrasa consists of five cells. It is one meter above the garden. On the ground floor of the madrasah rooms, there is a çilehane which is entered through a narrow corridor. The two-storey madrasah was severely damaged in the great fire of 1916. While the madrasa is among the most important madrasas of the city, important professors such as Kazirzade Hafız ali, Kaşlı Hasan Efendi, Hacı Musa, Hafız Hasan, Hafız Ahmet, Şerbetçizade Hacı Hafız and Hayri Dede gave lectures.
