De Jongh Mansion

De Jongh Mansion

It is the building built by the Dutch-born English De Jongh Family, known as one of the earliest settlers in Buca, and although it is not known for certain, the construction date is accepted as the 19th century (1877). With the departure of the De Jongh Family from Izmir, the mansion, which was transferred to the Italian Sperco Family, later became the property of the Aliberti Family. The mansion, which has changed hands many times, was expropriated in the 1930s and is now used within a health institution. The pool and tennis court, which reflect the architectural style of the Levantines and are the main design elements of the mansion, have not survived to this day. De Jongh Mansion, which was restored in various periods, is today owned by the Social Security Institution and is used as the Buca Social Security Center.
