Löhner (Ekipmen) Mansion

Karşıyaka, Cemal Gürsel Street No: 264, opposite Bostanlı Dolmuş Stop, is the mansion next to the park. It was built in the early 1900s and belongs to the German Lochner family. Amedee Lochner built the house. It is a family dealing with trade in its time. Like every historic and beautiful house, it has a complex history: it was sold to the Epicmen in the 1970s, resumed in 2001 and faced collapse. The house, which was restored in 2003-2004, gained the appearance you see above. Some members of the family still continue to commute between America, Germany and Izmir. It currently functions as a kindergarten. The building has a basement and two floors. It has a rectangular plan and extends to the west. The entrance of the building is provided by two narrow and high doors on the east facade. There are round and narrow arches just above the door. There is a diagonal section protruding out of the building on the southern façade. There are three long and narrow windows on this section. The building has a symmetrical façade arrangement. The rectangular windows are surrounded by jambs and there are half-round deaf arches made of brick material. There is a wooden bay window supported by iron consoles on the east facade of the second floor of the building. Under the eaves of the building, which is covered with a hipped roof, is covered with wooden material. In addition, the entire eaves of the building are surrounded by wood carving. The corners of the building are vertically covered with brick material and activated.
