Larissa Ancient Settlement

Larissa or Larisa, in older sources, is an ancient city near the village of Buruncuk, in the Menemen district of Izmir. In the language of the Pelasgs and some Anatolian peoples ('laqrisa' in the Lydian language), it is a word that includes the meaning of 'wall, castle, fortified place', and it is the name of more than one place.
