Bedesten (Tire)
The Bedesten, located on İzmir province, Tire district, Yeni Neighbourhood, Gazazhane Street, is an important legacy from the historical Byzantine bazaar. It was devoted to Ibni Melek Madrasah by the Emir of Tire, Süleyman Shah. This famous bazaar of the Byzantine and Principalities period was mostly run by silk merchants and for this reason, the section where it is located was famous as Kazazlar Bazaar. Its eight-domed cover is covered with tiles. There are 12 shops on the north and south sides and 4 shops on the east and west sides of the building, which has entrance doors from four directions.
