Mehmet Bey Mosque (Alaca Masjid)

Mehmet Bey Mosque is located in the Dere Neighbourhood Alacamescit district of Tire. The name of the mosque is also mentioned as Alacamescit in the records; Although the real builder of the mosque is not known, the name of Mehmet Bey, the son of Hüsam Dede (Hüsamettin), who repaired the mosque, is mentioned as the real builder. The fact that all foundation records contain the information that the mosque was repaired by Emir Mehmet takes the mosque to an earlier date. The Mescid-i Mezbur was in ruins and was repaired by Mehmet Bey, namely Sahibilhayr, and turned into a mosque. Based on this information, Mehmet Bey is the second builder of the mosque, in some of Tire mosques, the names of the second builders are seen in this way, and the mosques are named with the next names.

In the north of the mosque, there was the Madrasah of Mehmet Bey's brother, Osman Aga. In the records of Aydın Regional Directorate of Foundations, it is understood that Mehmet Bey's brother Osman Ağa was the foundation of this mosque.Mehmet Bey Mosque, in terms of its architectural features, starts with a short triangular cube in its minaret, and the body starts with two rows of ornamented bands. shaped dark decorations extend in strings up to the decorated thin band above. A subsequent white bracelet separates the lower body ornaments from the ornamented section of interlocking Y motifs that continue to the gold. The last congregation place of the mosque has two domes and one wall of the last congregation place is a fountain. Stone and brick workmanship is seen together next to the mosque. The minaret has only one balcony.
