Pekmez Pazarı Mosque
The mosque in İzmir, Kınık district, Ilıca Location, Uzun Çarşı Cami Street is a work of late Ottoman period. The year of construction is the 1022 Hijri. The square-planned building was built using the masonry technique. It is covered with a hipped roof. The arches of the narthex with round arches, which sit on six columns to the north, were later covered by covering. The building is plastered inside and outside. There is an oval shaped madolyan between the narthex arches. There is a wooden decorated core in the middle of the wooden covered ceiling. In the Harim section, a (U) shaped corridor surrounds the main space. The last congregation place was created in a circular form of bagdati with six feet. In the entrance section, the two pillars are wide, and the entrance to the mosque is provided with a ladder. The openings between the legs are covered with iron joinery windows. There are still shops around the mosque that make up the old bazaar texture of Kınık. The wooden eaves in the last congregation area of the mosque were damaged.
