Gülcüoğlu Mansions

In 1927, Hacı Mehmet Gülcüoğlu, Halim Gülcüoğlu and Tevfik Gülcüoğlu, who were members of the Gülcüoğlu Family, had a Bulgarian contractor built to replace the houses that were completely destroyed after the great fire in 1914. Architecturally, it was built in accordance with the Baroque Rococo style, the western counterpart of the Neo Classical style, which is frequently used in the last period buildings of the Ottoman Empire. The mansions, which consist of three mansions side by side, were used as residences until the 1990s by Gülcüoğlu Abdülhalim Efendi and her family, who served as mayor for two terms. Later, Gülcü mansions were transferred to Tire Municipality by Gülcüoğlu family to be used for tourism purposes and Tire Municipality has completed the restoration project of the mansions in 2000, accelerating the work of the mansions called 1st and 2nd Gülcü Mansions as Boutique Hotel in 2006 and opened them to visitors in 2007.
