Pamucak Beach

It is a delta formed in Kuşadası Bay, northwest of Selçuk district, where Küçük Menderes River flows into the sea. The delta, which has been mostly converted into an agricultural area, includes dunes, reeds, wide swamps, a freshwater lake (Çatal Lake) and a light salt lake (Gebekirse Lake). Sand lilies endemic to the Mediterranean basin are seen towards the Summer season on the Pamucak Beach, which is one of the areas where the river meets the sea. Bird species such as maple plover (Charadrius alexandrinus), crested lark (cristata in the gallery), swallow (Hirundo rustica), small gull (Hydrocoloeus minutus), beaked terns (Thalasseus sandvicensis) and a sea bird shearwater (Puffinus yelkouan) can be observed in the area. The area is also included in the area declared as Wild Life Development Area in 2006 with the approval of the Ministry.
