Dede Terebinth Natural Monument

The turbentine tree (Pistacia terebinthus) is a 2-3 meter tall shrub that shed its leaves in winter, or a thick-stemmed tree that can grow up to 6 meters long, with a wide round top. The yellow-gray shell of the body is cracked in small scales. Dede Menengici natural monument in Menemen Çaltı is located in the region that includes the Yamanlar Mountain and Dede Mountain and the narrow valley formed by the Gediz River in the north. The area is covered with red pine forests and scrub. In this way, it hosts a wide vegetation. The turbentine tree in Çaltı village, on the other hand, evokes admiration with its long-defying trunk.
