Delta of Güzelhisar
Güzelhisar Delta is a delta formed in the region where Güzelhisar (Pytikos) Stream, which takes its source from Yunt Mountain located in İzmir and Manisa provinces in the north of the Aegean Region and flows into the Aegean Sea from Çandarlı Bay, meets Aliağa Beach. It hosts bird species such as flamingo (Phoenicopterus roseus), cormorant (Phalacrocorax carbo), teal (Anas crecca), silver gull (Larus michahellis), mallard (Anas platyrhynchos) and spoonbill (Spatula clypeata). Aliağa is also known as bird paradise. It is important for plants, mammals and even microorganisms. Güzelhisar basin, which includes the delta, covers the borders of Aliağa, Menemen, Bergama and Manisa Central district.
