Küçük Sazlıgöl

Küçük Sazlıgöl is within the borders of Gediz Delta. The current Sazlıgöl and Küçük Sazlıgöl were a single lake many years ago. Marshy land became two separate lakes due to the drying of a part of it and transforming it into agricultural areas. Küçük Sazlıgöl dries up during the summer months. However, after the rainfall, water is collected in the lake again. Bird species such as the snipe (Gallinago gallinago), the crested lark (cristata in the Gallery), the red hawk (Buteo rufinus), the bigeye (Burhinus oedicnemus) and the kestrel (Falco tinnunculus) and the spotted tortoise (Emys orbicularis) and the tortoise (Testudo graeca) live in the region. In addition, mammals such as jackal (Canis aureus), fox (Vulpes vulpes), wild boar (Sus scrofa) and wild hare (Lepus europaeus ) are among the creatures living in the area.
