Meryemana Natural Park

Meryemana Natural Park is valuable in terms of biological diversity as well as being an important area in terms of religion and culture. It is known that the Anatolian leopard (Panthera pardus tulliana) lived in the area, especially until the end of the last century. There are also records of hyenas (Hyaena hyaena) and wolves (Canis lupus) until recently. Today, It is home to mammalian wildlife such as wild boar (Sus scrofa), hare (Lepus europaeus) and jackal (Canis aureus), forest pied woodpecker (Dendrocopos major), peregrine falcon (Falco peregrinus), raven (Corvus corax), hawk (Accipiter nisus), to bird species such as the kestrel (Falco tinnunculus) and the small skeet (Serinus Serinus).
