Ovacık Wild Life Development Area

In 2006, the area of 57.889 decares in Bayındır Kızıloba district was declared as a wildlife development area with the approval of the ministry. The target species of the site, was determined as Karaca (Capreolus capreolus), the smallest deer species in Turkey. Due to the fact that the karaca population was stuck in the region, it was planned to increase the population of them by taking the area under protection. Mammal wild animals such as wild boar (Sus scrofa), jackal (Canis aureus) and birds such as snake eagle (Circaeligtus gallicus), red hawk (Buteo rufinus) are also seen in the area. The aree is located in the Boz Mountains, which is the largest mountain range in the region.Plant species such as kermes oak (Quercus coccifera, red pine (brutia), black pine (Pinus nigra) are dominant in the area.
