Çakalburnu Lagünü
Çakalburnu lagoon is a Marshy Land where traditional diving activities in the Mediterranean basin used to be. Lagoon means rich in fish and these areas are also rich in biodiversity. Çakalburnu Lagoon has been declared as a sensitive area to be strictly protected by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization. It is an important point ащк birds in terms of being rich in fish. In summer, bird species such as stilt (Himantopus himantopus), Mediterranean gull (Ichthyaetus melanocephalus), spurred lapwing (Vanellus spinosus) are seen. In winter, teal (Anas crecca), spoonbill (Spatula clypeata), coot (Fulica atra), redfish (Tringa totanus) are seen more. On the other hand, Flamingos (Phoenicopterus roseus) can be observed year-round. It is an important feeding and accommodation area for birds during migration. More birds in number visit the area during the winter months. In addition, sea beans and reeds in the area constitute an important breeding ground for birds.
