Çatal Lake

The lake is located within the boundaries of the Küçük Menderes Delta. It is very close to Gebekirse Lake. Especially when you climb the hill between two lakes, two lakes offer an impressive view from a single point. The lake is also located to the north of the Küçük Menderes Delta Key Biodiversity Area. Great egret (Ardea alba), small cormorant (Microcarbo pygmeus), cuckoo (Gallinula chloropus), kingfisher (Alcedo atthis ) are the bird species that attract attention in the lake. Mid-Winter waterfowl counts are conducted regularly in the second week of January in Çatal Lake every year. Mammals such as badger (Meles meles), rock marten (Martes foina), wild boar (Sus scrofa) and jackal (Canis aureus) also live around the lake.
