Building was built in 1888 by the sea, 500 meters away from the present Konak Atatürk Square. The building was built using the masonry stone method and its facade was covered with plaster. Support system is used for the roof design. Although the building was previously used as a customs building, it was transformed into a fish market in the 1960s and continued this service until 1987.It was used as an office by ESHOT in the first half of the 1990s.Konak Pier attained its present appearance and activity as a shopping mall with the restoration between 1996-2002. Recently, although the building has been tried to be associated with the famous French architect Gustav Eiffel of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, considering the construction technique, no document regarding this has yet been reached.
