Tire rope has gained fame all over Anatolia with its strength and whiteness. It is stated that Fatih Sultan Mehmet had his ships towed to the Golden Horn with the ropes knitted by the masters of Tireli during the conquest of Istanbul.

The history

Until recently, rope weaving was used as a hand product in Tire. Today, tethering is carried out by a master in the intangible cultural heritage practice workshop of Tire City Museum.
