Bayındır Historical Öşür Han City Museum

The restoration of the building, which had been used as the Bayındır Tekel Building since 1929 and was evacuated in 1981, was completed in 2013. The building with accommodation rooms on the upper floors and storage and stables on the lower floor is a good example of the inner-city inns where merchants used to stay. The north and east façades are two-storey and the other parts are single-storey. The lower entrances of the spaces open directly to the courtyard, while the upper floor entrances open to both the courtyard and the corridor with windows and entrance openings. Since there is no inscription on the building or repair, the date of construction is unknown, but the plaque located at the entrance of the museum states 1869 as the construction date. The document dated 1904-1905 states that the building belongs to Greek Hacı Save Efendi gives clues about the date it was used and to whom it belongs. The service building, which was restored by the Bayındır Municipality, is used as a museum and a public library, where photographs and documents related to the history of Bayındır are located. As a city museum, Historical Öşür Han removes an important deficiency regarding the history of Bayındır, and the documents exhibited here came from the municipality archive, and some of the other exhibits were donated to the city museum.
