Konak Municipality İzmir Joy and Cartoon Museum
The museum was created as a result of the restoration of the historical building built in 1879 in Alsancak by Konak Municipality. The museum was opened by Konak Municipality on January 20, 2012. The purpose of the museum is to bring Izmir's visual humor heritage and the people of Izmir together. In addition to caricatures of world-famous cartoonists such as Güngör Kabakçıoğlu, Eflatun Nuri Erkoç and Niyazi Yoltaş, the museum also has caricature magazines and books, and regularly organizes national and international exhibitions. With this quality, the 'Joy and Cartoon Museum' is also defined as a 'living museum'.
