Homeros Valley

Homeros Valley, locating in Bornova, is an ideal place to embrace nature with oxygen-rich atmosphere.

The area organized as a recreation area by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality. There are walking paths, bicycle paths, jogging tracks, a small amphitheater and picnic areas in the valley, which is intertwined with nature. According to research on endemic species in the Homer Valley, 182 plant and 103 bird species live in 54 families.

There are various cafes and restaurants in the valley.

Entrance is free.


The history

It is thought that Homer lived in the cave located in the valley in the bed of the Bornova Stream, which is between Bornova and Kayadibi. That's why the valley was named Homer's Valley.
