Sarpıncık Lighthouse

The lighthouse is located on the Karaburun Peninsula in the west of Izmir Bay. To reach the lighthouse, proceed from Karaburun New Port by following the sign for Sarpıncık Village. After driving 12 kilometers in this direction, Sarpincik Village is reached. After passing the village, you can enter the Hamzabükü sign and proceed towards the sea and reach the lighthouse by following the Sarpıncık Lighthouse signs at the first fork in the road.

When you take the lighthouse to the back and look at the sea, Lesbos is seen on the right and Chios Island on the left.


The history

Sarpıncık Lighthouse was built in 1938. The lighthouse has a 12-meter white tower. Working with solar energy, the lighthouse is 97 meters above sea level and has a visible reach of 12 miles.
