Soil School Activities:
Trainings and events are organized in order to raise soil awareness and knowledge in citizens of all ages and professions, from our children to our veterans, and to add value to the journey of food from the soil.
At the Soil School, where we blend the ancient knowledge of soil with modern scientific techniques, we invite each participant to protect the harmony of nature and life and to be a harmonious part of nature.
Since June, seminars, trainings and workshops have been organized with the participation of more than 600 children and 500 adults in this journey that we started with the aim of equipping our children, the citizens of the world of the future, with the knowledge of nature and life and enabling them to become social individuals.
In order to develop a way of life that considers diversity and sustainability, that can be a part of the whole and establish meaningful relationships with all living things, we have organized seminars and workshops where children's hands touch the soil, where they bring together the seeds of the foods they are used to seeing on their tables with the soil, and where their own hands touch the soil.
On certain days of the week, we meet with farmers, young people, experienced people and children and organize talks, trainings and events where we enjoy the taste of producing together on every subject from Soil Analysis, Flora Fauna of Efes Selçuk, Olive Growing, Medicinal Aromatic plants to vegetables and fruits that come to our table, where Mother Earth is at the center. Our primary goal and model in the workshops, where Creative Drama, music-rhythm and painting techniques and methods are used from time to time, taking into account interdisciplinary relations, is the method of learning 'by having fun, doing and living' in accordance with the philosophy of the Ephesus Field Life Village.
