Yeşilova Mound Visitors Center

Many historical remains were found during the excavations at Yeşilova Tumulus. The tumulus dates back to 8,500 years. Remains of the oldest settlement in Izmir were found in the middle of the plain where the streams meet. It was understood that many cultures dating back to the Bronze Age, Chalcolithic Period and Neolithic Period lived in the tumulus until the Roman period. Time travel activity, which has many applications abroad, is held in this historic site. In Time Travel activities, an international project initiated to explain and teach the culture of 'First Izmirians', students wear the clothes of that period and participate in activities reflecting the period. Making tools, using stone tools, processing and firing clay, painting ornaments are examples of these activities.
