Dokuz Eylül University Sabancı Palace of Culture/Cultural Center

Sabancı Palace of Culture was built on the land allocated by the University with the cooperation of the Governorship of Izmir and the Dokuz Eylül University Rectorate and the contributions of the Sabancı Foundation. The building consists of two main sections on a 5,000 square meter closed area. In the first part of the building, there is the Great Hall (Hasan Tahsin Hall, which hosts all kinds of cultural and artistic events, including theater, opera, ballet, concerts and exhibitions, with a stage equipped with the most advanced techniques and a large foyer. The second section has a small hall for 123 people with an acoustic architecture and lighting equipment. The hall has a stage area of 75 square meters. There are special classrooms, study rooms, workshops, four ballet studios, seminar and orchestra rooms, art gallery, management and teaching staff rooms for all education branches of the conservatory. The entrance foyer and the third, fourth and fifth floor foyers of the Palace of Culture are used for exhibitions.
