İzmir Architecture Center

The Chamber of Architects Izmir Branch Board of Directors purchased the Tekel warehouse building in Alsancak in 2010 to organize events such as congresses, conferences, meetings, exhibitions, cocktails and libraries in order to meet the expectations of the increase in architectural activities and the architectural environment. The building is one of the first examples of storage functions shaped by semi-colonial relations in Izmir in the late 19th and early 20th centuries and developed around the Alsancak freight pier. The Izmir Architecture Center, which is a part of the Chamber of Architects Izmir Branch, has the technical infrastructure and facilities needed for different events such as congresses, conferences, training, events, exhibitions, product promotion and dealer meetings. Izmir Architecture Center building was among 60 buildings from 26 countries awarded in 2015 at the International Architecture Awards organized by the collaboration of ChiacagoAthenaeum Architecture and Design Museum and the European Center for Architecture, Art, Design and Urban Studies. The conference hall is for 330 people and the lecture hall is for 150 people. Events can be held for more than 500 people at the same time by transferring audio / video to the conference room and lecture hall. The architecture center has the facilities to host multiple different events simultaneously.
