Kültürpark

Izmir Kültürpark was founded on January 1, 1936 under the leadership of Behçet Uz. The purpose of the facility was to develop the republican Turkey's relations with other states in line with Atatürk's request.

Kulturpark has more than 8,000 trees and around 200 plant species. Trees and vegetation have been tagged and the trees insured. Before the fire in 1922, St. Stepanos Church and most of the Armenian quarter in Izmir were located in the park area. However, with the fire, the region fell into ruin.

Kültürpark hosts culture and arts events organized by many institutions and organizations. The Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Directorate of Culture and Arts, whose management place is also within the park, organizes many events throughout the year, from exhibitions to theater, concerts and film screenings.

The activities of İZFAŞ within the scope of Izmir International Fair, TÜYAP Izmir Book Fair, and the International Izmir Festival organized by Izmir Culture, Art and Education Foundation are among these.

Izmir History and Art Museum and Painting and Sculpture Museum Art Gallery, affiliated to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, are other venues in Kültürpark.

Kültürpark is established on an area of ​​420.000 square meters. There are 14 indoor exhibition halls, 4 conference halls, Atatürk Open Air Theater, İsmet İnönü Art Center, Izmir Art, Fair Marriage Office, Celal Atik Sports Hall, Parachute Tower, Youth Theater, Painting and Sculpture Museum, Izmir History and Art Museum.

There are also areas reserved for sports activities including 1850-meter jogging track, indoor sports hall, tennis courts and astroturf.
