Alparslan Masjid

The Masjid, located at Isa Bey Street in Izmir Selcuk district, No 21 opposite the Follow Gate, is the work of the 14th century Aydınoğlu Principality. The mosque, which has body walls built with brick and cut stone, as well as mostly spolia. It has a square plan and a single dome. The dome, where the passage from the inside is provided with muqarnas binges, is octagonal rim from the outside. On the northern façade, the entrance is enclosed by a pointed brick arch, a semicircular arched window was opened over the door opening with flat, monolithic jambs and lintels, and a niche was placed on both sides. The window with pediment illuminates the inside. The mosque, which is intact and open to worship today, was repaired by the General Directorate of Foundations in 1965.
