Saint Mary Magdalene Anglican Church
The Church of St. Magdalene, which is located in Bornova and has been serving the Anglican Church Congregation since 1857, is one of the 42 churches affiliated to the Bishop of Gibraltar with the authority given by the Archbishop of Canterbury.
The church is open from 17:00 to 18:00 for evening service on Tuesdays.
Built in 1857 by the Whittall Family, the church was visited by Sultan Abdulaziz in 1863 and was consecrated by the Bishop of Gibraltar in 1864. At the beginning of the century, the church, which was equipped with stained glass produced by the famous British firm Kempe, has been used as a place where special ceremonies are held, serving the priest and congregation of the church of St. John in Alsancak.
