Nahıl Namazgah Womens Bath

Nahıl, the economic enterprise of the Foundation for the Support of Women's Work (KEDV), is a social enterprise that contributes to women's economic empowerment.

The Historical Namazgâh Bath, located in the Agora Region of Izmir, opened its doors to visitors on 01 May 2024.

It stands out not only with history and culture but also with women's labor and empowerment.

Located in the Agora ruins in Izmir, Namazgah Bath is one of the important structures that preserve the historical texture of the city. Dating back to the 2nd century AD, this bath was built during the Roman Empire. It is located in the southwest corner of the Agora and offers important clues about the life of the ancient city.

The Namazgâh Bath was greatly expanded and renovated during the Imperial period in the 4th century. During this period, the architectural features of the bath evolved from the moulds typical of the Roman period to the more complex and detailed architectural style of the Imperial period.

Today, the Namazgâh Hamam is recognized as an important part of Izmir's cultural and touristic heritage. Visitors have the opportunity to closely observe the daily life and bath culture of the ancient period. The structural features in the interior of the bath reflect the details and functionality of ancient Roman bath architecture.

While our baths bear the traces of traditional Turkish architecture, they also combine modern standards of comfort and hygiene. A warm welcome and a peaceful start with traditional Turkish sherbet await you at the entrance.
