Blue Cortijo

You are in Blue Cortijo, which has managed to survive until today and will be restored and reintroduced to the city.

Mavi Kortejo has a typical cortejo architecture that cannot be predicted until you enter through its door. It was built in the setting of a space where a poor Jewish family lived, together and shared each room.

Mavi Kortejo, consisting of a two-storey main building and a period extension surrounding the courtyard, consists of single-storey buildings. The main building also has a basement floor. While all the rooms are opening to the barreled courtyard; The bathroom, toilet, and kitchen were also the common areas of the cortege. Cortijo was registered as a 2nd group of immovable cultural property that should be protected in 2017.

The restoration work of Mavi Kortejo, where Sephardic melodies are heard from its courtyard in the evenings and which is still a memory of Jews who went to Israel, is carried out by TARKEM.
