City Historical Park

You are in the City Historical Park, which is located next to the Clock Tower and public buildings, one of the symbols of Izmir, extending to the Kemeraltı bazaar, the ferry pier and the metro, where you can stop and breathe in the city's most active square.

The history

The huge void that emerged with the demolition of the Sarı Kışla, one of the symbolic structures of Konak Atatürk Square, caused the city's main square to remain unidentified for a long time. With the Izmir City Historical Park, which is themed as the Open Exhibition Area and the Aegean Artists Park, it is aimed to revive this void as a lush green texture in our memory.

Green squares were created from trees on both sides of the pool in the middle of the park. There are two ceramic and stone mosaic maps on the ground of the park. One of these maps that can be walked on shows the Izmir Bay and the city exit, and the other shows the old city settlement area.
