Sound Of Europe Music Festival

One of the youngest and most dynamic music festivals, the Sound of Europe Festival, will bring together music lovers in two days of concerts hosted by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality. The concerts will be held at Bostanlı Seyir Terası on September 14th and 15th, where new and successful voices of European music will come together with musicians from Turkey.

Last year, with the participation of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality and the support of the 'EUNIC Cluster Fund,' created by EUNIC (European Union National Institutes for Culture) to support cultural projects in member countries, the Sound of Europe Festival extended to İzmir. The festival aims to serve as a meeting point for cultural exchange between Europe and Turkey. The festival, which is open to the public and free to attend to ensure that all music lovers can benefit from it, will be held for two days this year at Bostanlı Seyir Terası, hosted by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality.

The festival, which will be held on September 14th and 15th, will bring together young projects and successful voices from Europe with renowned musicians from Turkey, covering a wide musical range from rock, pop, jazz, to reggae. As part of the program, music workshops will also be organized with guest artists, turning the Sound of Europe Festival into a platform for cultural dialogue involving music professionals.

Open to the Public and Free of Charge On Saturday, September 14th, the festival will feature performances by the five-member, all-female Spanish group 'Maruja Limón', 'Isolation Berlin' founded by singer Tobias Bamborschke and guitarist Max Bauer, and 'Ayanbeyan', consisting of Kenan Arat on guitar, Mehmet Denizci on flugelhorn, Candeğer Dülgeroğlu on synthesizer/computer FX, and tabla artist Gürkan Özkan. On Sunday, September 15th, French singer-songwriter Ysé, Sudanese-Dutch singer-songwriter Gaidaa, one of Romania's most beloved jazz groups 7th SENSE, and Buğra Uğur, a graduate of Istanbul University State Conservatory's Opera Department, will perform for music lovers. All concerts at Bostanlı Seyir Terası will be open to the public and free of charge. Doors for those who wish to attend the concerts will open at 17:00.

Three Cities, Over 25 Concerts, and More than 50 Artists In its first two years, the Sound of Europe Festival hosted over 100 local and international musicians in Istanbul, Ankara, İzmir, and Hatay, bringing together more than 10,000 listeners under the umbrella of music. This year, the festival, held for the third time, will feature over 50 artists in more than 25 concerts across Ankara, Istanbul, and İzmir over two days. The festival will showcase 13 different music groups from Europe along with local artists from Turkey.
