İzmir Historical Coal Gas Factory

The Old Gas Factory is located on Liman Street within the boundaries of Umurbey District of Izmir Konak District. The industrial landscape of the Gas Factory during the development phase from the 19th century to the end of the 20th century, before restoration, the foundry, engine room, administration building, meter room, material warehouse, workshops, water tank, chimney, lodging, repair shop, wet places includes units such as water treatment boilers.

The history

The Coal Gas Factory, which has become one of the symbolic structures of Izmir, is one of the limited examples of 19th century industrial architecture, which was re-functionalized and brought to the city as of 2009, although it remained idle for a long time.
