Before Coming to İzmir
There are some things we think you should take into consideration when planning your trip to Izmir.
The weather will likely be clear in İzmir during your trip. Because an average of 300 days per year is clear. If you are visiting the city during any time other than winter, there is a very low chance of encountering rain. In other words, you probably won't need those thick clothes when you prepare your luggage!
Turkish Lira, the official currency of the Republic of Turkey, is used in Izmir of course. However, in many large shopping malls, hotels, and restaurants, you can also pay in foreign currency, especially in dollars and euros.
If you live in a country that requires a visa to enter Turkey, do not forget to make your visa application through the Electronic Visa Application System before coming to Izmir.
