See the animals in İzmir Natural Life Park
Also referred to as Sasalı Wildlife Park, İzmir Natural Park is located in Çiğli district. Opened in 2008, it is the largest natural life park in Europe. The park has a zoo and thanks to the special arrangements made in the area, the necessary conditions are provided for the comfort of the animals. Natural Life Park has been increasing the number of species and varieties with 1,048 animals in 128 species.
As a member of The European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA), the Natural Life Park attracts great attention, especially from the children. There are Asian elephants, African savannas, tigers, lions, cougars, birds of prey, hyenas, bears as well as a wolf shelter, a monkey island, the children's zoo, a tropical center, a cafeteria, and a gift shop in the park.
Let your kids learn about the space
Space Camp in Gaziemir is one of the reasons why İzmir is a perfect destination for families with children. Third of its kind in the world and the only one in Turkey, Middle East, Southeastern Europe and Western/Central Asia, Space Camp Turkey is located at the Aegean Free Zone, the modern industry center of İzmir. The camp which was opened in 2000 gives communication, teamwork, and leadership education to both children and adults in a dynamic and fun environment using interactive simulations about space. The Space Camp also aims to motivate young people into pursuing a career in the fields of science, math, and technology.
Visit the amusement parks
There are two amusement parks in İzmir, one at Kültürpark and the other at Buca Pond Area.
Established on an area of 13,500 square meters, the amusement park in Kültürpark has been in service since 1975. The amusement park, which includes many electric toys, from bumper cars to horror tunnel, from kamikaze to radar, attracts the attention of adults as well as children.
The Buca Pond Area, which is built on an area of 167 thousand m2, attracts children with a funfair while you spend a day in nature. After spending time in the amusement park, you can have a picnic with your family in the picnic area.
Meet the colts in Tay Park
Located in Karşıyaka, Tay Park (Colt Park) imposes the love of animals and nature to children. The park hosts Cameroon Sheep, pigeons, and chickens. There are many bookstores in Alsancak Kıbrıs Şehitleri Street, and shops that sell books and toys in large shopping malls in Bornova, Karşıyaka, Gaziemir, and Balçova for children. If you are interested in bowling and want to play with your family, one of the oldest halls in İzmir takes place within the Hilton Hotel in Konak. Famecity Amusement Center is providing services with the "Amusement for Family" theme on a six thousand square meter area. There are exciting games for groups, especially at the weekends.

There are facilities in different sizes in İzmir for those who desire to feel the breeze on their faces while soaring on the ice rink as a bird.
Bornova’s Aşık Veysel Recreational Area and Ice Rink is a professional facility not only for ice skating but also for learning it. Providing courses for groups on weekdays, the facility is open for service between September and January. You can skate for 45-minute sessions on the ice rink. Minors below 13 years of age are not accepted on the ice rink without consent from their families.
Optimum Shopping Mall in Gaziemir has also an ice rink. Your children can experience the joy of ice skating for 30 to 45-minute sessions with professional trainers on the ice rink at the ground floor of the mall. In addition to casual skating, regular ice skating courses are also provided. The rink is open throughout the year.

The Science Museum, which was opened in 2009 by Karşıyaka Municipality in cooperation with Bahçeşehir College, is the first museum of science in the Aegean region. The museum, which aims to teach the basic principles of science to the 12-15 age group and to show technological developments, attracts the attention of people of all ages who are interested in science. The museum also holds conferences, science festivals, and many other events.

Universal Children's Museum and Education Campus which was founded in Karşıyaka in 2017, helps children to develop their creativity, imagination, and skills while sharing fun experiences. Located on a 7 thousand 200 square meters of land, it’s Turkey’s and the world’s first children museum and education campus with a theme of universal values.
The campus has sections such as Paleontology Island, which has 15 dinosaur replicas and fossil excavations; Entomology Island which has biological ponds, insect replicas, and insect hotels; Engineering Island which has miniature construction machinery; and the Science Island which has setups like a static astronaut and Archimedes auger. The museum part, on the other hand, has education and exhibition areas to ensure that children learn about different universal values such as Respect and Environment, Love and Veterinary, Friendship, and Town Musicians of Bremen.

With the lift, you can reach up to social rest facilities in Atatepe from Yeşiltepe with eight-person cabins, painted with the colors of the rainbow.
