İzmir's Michelin Restaurants in 2025

İzmir continues to stand out as a "gastro city" with its thriving gastronomy tourism. The city’s rich culinary heritage, shaped by its 8,500-year-old history, has now been crowned with İzmir restaurants in the Michelin guide. Michelin inspectors have selected 24 restaurants in İzmir for the guide’s latest edition.

Hiç LokantaOd UrlaVino Locale, Asma Yaprağı and Teruar Urla received the prestigious Green Star award for their pioneering approach to sustainable gastronomy.

Among the selected restaurants, Ayşa Boşnak BörekçisiBeğendik AbiAdil MüftüoğluLa MahzenTavacı Recep UstaHiç LokantaAslında Meyhane, and Asma Yaprağı were honored with the Bib Gourmand award. Bib Gourmand is a category that recognizes restaurants offering excellent food at more affordable prices.

In the Michelin Guide Recommended Restaurants category, the following İzmir venues were included: Emektar Kebap, Balmumu Dükkan Lokanta, Seyhan Et, Rituel, Çark Balık Çeşme, Esca, Terakki, Roka Bahçe, Amavi, İsabey Bağevi, Kasap Fuat Alsancak, Kasap Fuat Çeşme, Levan, Birinci Kordon Balık Restaurant, Hus Şarapçılık, Ortaya Alaçatı, Sota Alaçatı, Scappi, and Gula Urla.

Four restaurants in Izmir were awarded a Michelin Star.

The first is OD Urla, led by Chef Osman Sezener, which stands out with its deep-rooted and authentic culinary approach. Surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, this family-run restaurant utilizes the finest local ingredients, half of which are produced directly on-site. At the same time, the rest are sourced from nearby producers and artisans.

At Teruar Urla, chef Osman Serdaroğlu and his team create Italian- and Mediterranean-inspired dishes that highlight the richness of local ingredients. From lamb saltimbocca to crispy zucchini, and from fresh goat cheese to dried yogurt, the plates are surprisingly rich yet minimalist in character.

The wine list is equally impressive, offering a diverse selection that reflects the terroirs of different regions across Türkiye. Recognized for its commitment to sustainable gastronomy, Teruar Urla was awarded the Michelin Green Star in the 2026 selection.

Created by Ozan and Seray KumbasarVino Locale has been awarded two Michelin Stars. In the 2025 selectionSeray Kumbasar was also honored with Türkiye’s first-ever Michelin Sommelier Award.

In his kitchen, Ozan Kumbasar uses only the finest ingredients, taking great care to source them from areas close to the restaurant. Designed to align as closely as possible with the seasons, the menu changes every six weeks, inviting guests to discover a cuisine that is both emotional and sophisticated.

In the dining room, Seray Kumbasar guides gourmets through a striking selection of regional wines, offering a refined pairing experience that complements the restaurant’s culinary vision.

Vino Locale

At Narımor, Chef Atilla Heilbron and his team offer a unique interpretation of Turkish cuisine. Awarded a Michelin Star, Narımor features an intimate setting with only a few tables. Hostess Buse contributes to the ambiance with her attentive service. Chef Heilbron’s meticulously crafted dishes are visually stunning and showcase the finest local ingredients.
